Situated by the Kwun Tong Promenade in Hong Kong, VESSEL 發現號 is a creative hub that organises and hosts cultural events for the local community with the purpose of promoting individual discovery and social inclusion through the arts.

VESSEL’s Chinese name 「發現號」 is established from the idea of searching and discovery, while the English name is derived from the fact that the creative hub is housed in a shipping container by a seaside dock. ‘Search and Discover’ is the core basis of the dynamic branding and visual identity system, resulting in a series of iterations depicting a shining torch light that moves across the identity system. The stencil typography is allusive of shipping container labelling to create instantaneous recognition. The VESSEL logo is applied across different scales from prints to environmental graphics such as the repurposed shipping containers themselves.
