The Pavilia Hill is a luxury bespoke residence in the heart of Hong Kong and curated by Cultural Entrepreneur Adrian Cheng under New World Development’s The Artisanal Movement.
The design pays tribute to nature and artisanship. Its interior and landscape designs are all based on Wabi-Sabi, a Japanese aesthetic and worldview centred on the acceptance of transience and imperfection.
We designed a bespoke premium invitation for The Pavilia Hill Party, themed, ‘Serenity Above, A Journey of Wabi-Sabi’. The invitation was designed as a gift box holding a blind debossed abstract brushstroke by The Pavilia Hill’s landscape architect and Zen priest, Shunmyo Masuno. The gift box was designed to encase:
A 3D embossed invitation card illustrated with morning glory flowers and the story of Tea Master Sen Rikyu, served as a gentle reminder of the world of Wabi-Sabi.
A scroll with the personal calligraphy of Shunmyo Masuno featured 一期一會 (Ichi-go ichi-e), a Japanese cultural concept deeply rooted in the traditional tea ceremony, extending Cultural Entrepreneur Adrian Cheng’s humble invitation to guests.
