Located in the heritage neighbourhood of Sai Ying Pun, Hong Kong, Artisan House is an artistic residential project of The Artisanal Movement collection by New World Development (NWD). nARCHITECTS’ vision for Artisan House is rooted in the notion of Reflections of Artistry. This is expressed on the facade through the play of reflective triangular surfaces that superimpose the experience of private living with public activities. The ever-shifting reflections of the vibrant neighbourhood create ambiguous impressions, blurring the boundary between private and public space.
We were tasked with creating a book to encapsulate the vision and reflect the unique character of the project. Taking inspiration from the mirrored architectural details of the building, a die cut and reflective cover was selected to front the book design. The dark colour scheme was also drawn from the building itself, echoing the ambience of Artisan House. A clean and simple layout was used to enhance the minimal architectural nature of the project, whilst providing a clean canvas on which the project is displayed on.
