Unicef – Underweight Children

The poster shows how malnourished toddlers are spread over three regions of the world, namely Asia, Africa and the rest of the world, with reference to the statistics collected by UNICEF in 2007. Each region is represented by a skinny animal, with a panda for Asia, a lion for Africa, and a dog for other parts of the world. The size of the animals and the number of undernourished children are inversely related; hence the giant panda's growth has become obviously stunted, shrunk to being the smallest, whilst the dog is super-sized. The contrast arouses attention to the cruel picture of the problem of malnutrition.
